A professional researcher and writer, Kevin helps organizations with strategic planning to achieve ambitious long-term goals. His background as a Teach For America teacher in New York City and more recently his experience as a curriculum consultant for urban charter schools have molded his belief that ambitious goal-setting and rigorous planning are essential steps to improving public education.
Kevin writes and copyedits documents that develop out of Bloom’s planning work. He emphasizes clear, concise expression that effectively captures the values and goals of our clients.
In addition to his work with Bloom, Kevin is a journalist covering new research in math and science. He is currently the senior math writer at Quanta Magazine. From 2013-2016 he wrote a weekly column called Brainiac for the Boston Globe’s Ideas section. His stories have been collected in the “The Best Writing on Mathematics” series from Princeton University Press in 2013 and 2016.
Kevin enjoys running, reading, and spending time with his family. He earned a master’s degree in Education from Fordham University and an AB in Political Theory from Harvard University.
